Municipality of Sátão puts Municipal Climate Action Plan up for public discussion
The Municipality of Sátão has initiated the public discussion process for its proposed Municipal Climate Action Plan (MCAP), as provided for in paragraph 1 of article 89 of the Legal Regime of Territorial Management Instruments (RJIGT). The proposal will be available for consultation for a period of 30 days, counted from the fifth working day after the publication of the respective notice in Series II of the Diário da República.

The Municipality of Sátão has initiated the public discussion process for its proposed Municipal Climate Action Plan (MCAP), as provided for in paragraph 1 of article 89 of the Legal Regime of Territorial Management Instruments (RJIGT). The MCAP represents an essential tool in municipal planning for combating climate change. According to the Climate Framework Law (Law n.º 98/2021, of December 31), this plan aims to reflect the contribution of municipalities to national objectives in terms of climate policy. In this sense, the document includes local targets for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, as well as adaptation and response strategies to the effects of climate change, including the actions to be implemented and the planned investments.
With this public participation process, the Municipality of Sátão intends to involve citizens and local entities in the construction of a more sustainable and climate-resilient territory.
